Columbia alumni need not organize to connect, but there are certainly more opportunities to connect when we organize. Take a page out of the BAC chapters on the west coast.

The Next Chapter
Black alumni have come together to form Black Alumni Council chapters in California and to connect with the local regional Columbia alumni clubs. This fairly recent development adds structure and a network that continues to develop in key locations for Black alumni living, working, and/or visiting the Golden State.
In Los Angeles, Courtney Lynne Wilkins and Sherron Pearson are developing BAC-LA and have connected with Columbia Southern California (SoCal). In the San Francisco area, Nadine Rose Carole, Lauren Baranco, Devante Bledsoe, and Chris Jones are creating Columbia Black Alumni Council-SF Bay Area and have connected with Columbia Northern California (NorCal).
Courtney is a former BAC executive board member here in New York City, Sherron and Devante had previously helped to organize a BAC-DC chapter, Nadine is co-president of Columbia NorCal, and Chris Jones is notably a past-president of BAC.
Going forward, BAC leadership will work to survey our entire contact list for regions of residence, employment, and interest to update our communications to members. We encourage more Black alumni to follow the lead of folks in California to organize and connect.
Stay tuned for more developments to come.
